CFS HUBS.

Change is ignited by experimentation, which leads to ultimate innovation. The basic fundamental to any exploration of the unknown. Every year, CFS aims to discover bold innovators who are keen to experiment new ways to design, produce, communicate and sell, building a better future for everyone, together, Connecting the most exciting innovators with the designers of the future, we aim to create measurable and scalable impact by igniting special projects and pilots to accelerate the transition of fashion towards digitization and circularity.

IMPACT DESIGN HUB

Impact Design Hub is a curated selection of 10 international avant-garde designers showcasing their collections respecting the four Impact Design principles: Materials, Process, People and Planet, connecting them to the Innovation Hub to create partnerships for scalable impact and to join the CFS Goals.

This year, each honoree will receive €100,000 in materials, manufacturing, consultancy, and mentorship from a global family of cross-industry partners, a subscription to 3D fashion software CLO and lablaco's circular retail system - LPLUS, to pilot digitized circular products and business models.

  • Raw materials play a key role in determining the environmental impact for all products. Developing new treatments for materials, including working with organic, innovative or sustainable material resources such as recycled yarns, vegan leather and deadstock. With aim to dramatically reduce the impact of the entire industry.

  • Redesigning for the product life cycle through circularity and process design, minimizing waste in the design process through digital design, sustainable dyeing and printmaking, recycling, upcycling, traceability and transparency, with the goal of keeping materials and products from ending up in landfills. Circular design is the future of a more sustainable, profitable, efficient industry.

  • Taking design inspiration from Nature to reinvest in the planet. Always reducing our use of resources, offsetting carbon footprint by planting trees, reducing water consumption, using renewable energies, implementing regenerative production, carbon-neutral shipping, and clearing plastics and chemicals.

  • Empowering craftsmanship, being inclusive of underrepresented or marginalized communities and cultural respect for local communities through fair pay and working conditions throughout the supply chain is a beneficial and positive way to elevate our shared humanity. It’s vital to ensure inclusion, diversity, and empowerment of minority groups through contemporary design.

Impact Design Honorees 2021

CFS Innovation Hub is a curated showcase of international cross-industry solutions, from corporates to startups, achieving innovation in new materials, supply chain, technology products, and services to accelerate the transition of fashion to a circular economy.

Each year, CFS will select ten innovators to create cross-industry pilots supporting independent designers in activating digitized circular fashion products, and business models.

  • Responsibly sourced circular or innovative materials, including fibres, yarns, fabrics, and details, regenerative sourcing, traceability and transparency applications... etc.

  • Reducing waste in design process and production phases with digitization, sustainable dyeing, 3D printing, digital design... etc

  • Promoting responsible consumption through circular retail applications, including VR and AR, product care and repair, recycling and upcycling, and sustainable packaging
