About Designer
Oluwole Olosunde is a 23 year old Registered Nurse and Designer born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Skipping two grades (2nd &12th) and graduating high school at the age of 16, he has always been ahead of the curve. After being exposed to Nursing at Clara Barton High School he continued with his studies to become a Nurse. At 20 years old he secured the title of being the youngest man to ever graduated from University at Buffalo School of Nursing with a Bachelors Degree. He now practices as an Emergency Dept/Trauma RN for the past three years. His lifetime love for Fashion/Style combined with his fascination with the human body is what lead to the conception of Against Medical Advice.

As a Nurse and Founder of AMA, we pride ourselves on constant applying practices that will help advance humanity as a whole. From donating to young Black mothers to amplifying voices of undeserved patient populations, we make it our priority to magnify the stories of silenced patient populations. Through our designs & intriguing prints we create this sector of informative fashion, that allows the consumer to inform another about what their wearing whether it be the skeletal system or a Brain MRI.
Society itself has been redesigned over the past year by a global pandemic that I have been on the front line fighting hands on. Constantly serving the community as an Emergency room Nurse, I am able to treat underserved patient populations then use that as influence to create art/initiatives that will help amplify their voices. New York City, an overpopulated melting pot of culture, allows me to observe a wide variety of people at their most vulnerable moments. This grants me an inside eye on whats really going on within the community from a public health standpoint, which help orient me to topics that need the most attention.
As a Nurse, paying attention to details is one of the strongest powers we have to detect imminent declines in one health. As a designer, I use this same focus to ensure each AMA piece is held to a high standard of high quality design. Every item is hand sewn by a local team in my hometown of New York City, thus continuing the cycle of supporting small businesses like ourself.
