The CPHFW NEWTALENT scheme offers support to three to five emerging designers per season, encompassing monetary assistance, mentorships, partnership offerings, professional advisors, official show schedule onboarding, event participation, showroom activations, an alumni network, and extensive PR through Copenhagen Fashion Week’s international community and channels. The selected brands will be supported for three consecutive seasons and each designer will graduate on to the alumni program with continued support and mentorship.

As Copenhagen Fashion Week intensifies its commitment to becoming an agenda-setting platform and event, SPIN.FASHION aligns with their Sustainability Action Plan. The Action Plan 2023-2025 builds upon the previous strategy, focusing on pillars such as education, reduction, and acceleration.

Revolutionizing Wardrobe Connectivity: Vogue Singapore Taps SPIN.FASHION for Its First 3D-Immersive and Phygital Closet

At Next In Vogue, a two-day landmark event on November 17–18, 2023, at The Singapore Edition, Vogue Singapore celebrated its third anniversary with the prestigious Vogue Talent and Innovation Prize. SPIN.FASHION, top three finalists of the Vogue Singapore x BMW Innovation Prize 2023, powered the Vogue Closet with an immersive exhibition featuring red-carpet couture dresses by Bad Binch Tong Tong and CFS Impact Design honoree Miss Sohee.

Singapore - November 19, 2023

In a captivating two-day extravaganza from November 17th to 18th, 2023, Vogue Singapore orchestrated its inaugural and monumental event — NEXT IN VOGUE. The occasion seamlessly brought together leading voices in the realms of fashion and technology, featuring international speakers such as Netflix star Ashly Park, renowned for her role in 'Emily in Paris'; Alexis Bonhomme, VP of Global Industry Partnerships at FARFETCH; Bea Valdes, Editor-in-Chief at Vogue Philippines; Mae Tan, a rising creative force in Singapore; and more. Vogue Singapore celebrated its third anniversary alongside the Vogue Talent Prize and Vogue Singapore x BMW Innovation Prize awards ceremony, perfectly merging the future of fashion, culture, and lifestyle through the lens of global innovation into the vibrant backdrop of Singapore.

Eliana Kuo, co-CEO and founder at SPIN.FASHION, was also at the panel ‘IRL VS. Virtual Worlds: Challenges & Opportunities For Fashion’s New World’ on 17th November, alongside panel speakers from Farfetch, Cash Labs, Jornee, and Bad Binch Tong Tong, moderated by publisher of Vogue Singapore, Bettina von Schlippe. ‘Lablaco is proud to be part of this journey, exploring web3 technologies with the team since 2021: we hosted Circular Fashion Summit in SPIN VR and celebrated the first anniversary of Vogue Singapore with its first virtual reality gallery at the digital twin of Grand Palais Éphémère during the pandemic; and this year, we celebrated the third anniversary of Vogue Singapore IRL!
‘ says Eliana.

SPIN.FASHION, the pioneer in web3 circular fashion since its inception, has been recognized as top three finalists of Vogue Singapore x BMW Innovation Prize 2023, and was selected by Vogue Singapore as the digital fashion partner to provide the 3D immersive experience to its Vogue Closet exhibition during this three-day event. Vogue Closet, exhibitors including Zalora Luxury, Swarovski, OPPO, Spatial Labs and Kiki World, is an immersive playground of fashion, beauty and technology featuring a curation of digital and physical fashion selected by the editors of Vogue Singapore. It hosted the debut showcase of two Asian designers , Bad Binch Tong Tong and the CFS Impact Design honoree in 2021, Miss Sohee, known for their bold and imaginative work, which made available in Augmented Reality (AR) via SPIN.FASHION and physically showed in Singapore for the first time.

Thanks to SPIN.FASHION’s industry-leading phygital commerce system with AI-powered 3D modeling and IoT (Internet of Things) capabilities, every product can be easily digitized simply by uploading two images captured item’s front and back, with unique Near Field Communication (NFC) labels that connect the 3D twins and detailed product information to its physical counterpart: your connected (IoT) wardrobe is ready to be managed and traced, and monetize it with circular business models such as sale, resale, swap, rental, and borrow.

The 3D and IoT capabilities open new possibilities to navigate the complexities of managing high-value items filled with cherished memories, solving the usual hassles: ‘when did I wear this dress last time?!’, ‘which dress did my sister borrow from me last time?! ’, ‘where did I bring my dress to be cleaned last time?!’, all these human-memories-related manual works can finally be seamlessly automated and managed by SPIN Valut, which operates as a custodial Non Fungible Tokens (NFTs) wallet for ownership and management of high-valued physical and digital (phygital) fashion and art items.

To experience the Immersive Vogue Closet at Next In Vogue, visitors were able to scan the garments and exhibit the 3D digital twins in Augmented Reality (AR) everywhere, to view the information of its provenance and product story, all with smartphones. In addition to Vogue Closet, Miss Sohee couture dress was also shown at a stunning moment at Vogue Gala Dinner: as a rendered video of an AI-generated model wearing the couture gown—a combinative effort of Cash Labs and SPIN.FASHION—was extended to real life, when Singaporean model Kaigin Yong stepped out wearing the breathtaking piece herself to present the award for Vogue Singapore x BMW Innovation Prize 2023.

‘At SPIN, we are excited to join this incredible journey of fashion digitization with Vogue Singapore, tracing back to the magazine's inaugural anniversary in 2021. When we kicked off their first ever Virtual Reality exhibition inside SPIN VR. Fast forward to today, as we mark their third anniversary in Singapore. The fact that we're now delivering immersive Augmented Reality experiences through SPIN is a testament to the power of the Mixed Reality technologies we are building. It's not just about designing and building these technologies to unite people worldwide around fashion, art, and culture — it's about witnessing them do exactly that every single day. Never stoping and always breaking new ground, reshaping the way we experience fashion together.’ says Lor Albrighi, Co-CEO & Founder of SPIN.FASHION.

Paris, France - September 18, 2023
Istituto Marangoni Paris, leading international fashion school, is proud to announce its partnership with SPIN.FASHION, a Lablaco company, curated Web3 platform for phygital (physical + digital) Fashion, Art, and Architecture. This groundbreaking collaboration marks the beginning of a new era for fashion academia and sets the stage for the future of sustainable fashion. In an industry-first move, Istituto Marangoni Paris will provide its students with access to SPIN's cutting-edge Web3 tools. These tools empower aspiring fashion designers to transition seamlessly into a digitized and connected circular fashion system. Throughout the academic year, students will have the opportunity to create physical sustainable garments while leveraging SPIN's innovative 3D digital twins technology.

The integration of 3D digital twins into the curriculum will offer students immersive mixed reality experiences. By combining augmented reality exhibitions and IoT labeling systems, Istituto Marangoni Paris aims to bridge the gap between physical creations and virtual showcases. The introduction of AR-TRY ONs will enable experience-to-order models, reducing waste and dead stock.

SPIN VR will provide virtual spaces for students to showcase their collections, offering an interactive and engaging platform for fashion enthusiasts worldwide. These phygital items will be traced on the blockchain, ensuring certificates of authenticity, end-to-end transparency of the supply chain, and end customer ownership of each item. Additionally, creators will receive perpetual royalty fees on the secondary market.

SPIN has chosen to utilize the Flow Blockchain for this initiative. Known as one of the most sustainable blockchains available today, Flow requires significantly less energy to mint one NFT than it takes to upload a post on Instagram.

This partnership between Istituto Marangoni Paris and SPIN by Lablaco represents a significant step forward in the realm of fashion education. By embracing Phygital Fashion and harnessing the power of Web3 technologies, Istituto Marangoni Paris is shaping the future of sustainable fashion by preparing students with the necessary skills to fulfill the new needs of the leading fashion houses.

SPIN Presents the Future of Web3 Circular Retail at Galeries Lafayette Champs-Elysées

SPIN by lablaco presents Web3 Fashion • The Origin Story, a meta-retail exhibition at Galeries Lafayette Champs-Elysées.The mixed-reality journey invites customers to face the reality of fashion waste head on and imagine a new future.

Since 2016, lablaco, the leading Web3 circular fashion ecosystem, has been on a mission to build a digitized circular economy, with more than 100 cross-industry partners, including Kering, Vogue, H&M, Unity, Meta, Dapper Labs, and Crypto.com. Now, SPIN by lablaco presents a new reality for circular retail with Web3 Fashion • The Origin Story.

This meta-retail exhibition, Web3 Fashion • The Origin Story. premieres IRL (in real life) using SPIN’s AR (augmented reality) and VR (virtual reality) systems with Europe’s largest luxury retail group, Galeries Lafayette, at their most iconic store on Champs-Elysées. The activation will take over the whole of the Galeries Lafayette Champs-Elysées atrium area with creative installations and immersive XR (extended reality) experiences from 4 – 26 January, 2023.

Thanks to VR technology, the Galeries Lafayette Champs-Elysées atrium has been recreated in a vision of the future, where nature is the protagonist. The exhibition presents a zero-waste, Web3 meta-retail reality that reduces the impact of unsold inventory and shipping, through the direct-to-avatar VR try-on of 28 next-gen circular products.

The mixed-reality exhibition is curated into three chapters to experience through AR and VR technologies powered by SPIN. The journey invites customers to face the realities of fashion waste head-on and to trace how this excess can be transformed and reused through digitization and circular retail models in Web3.

I • The Dream

II • New Perspective

III • Come to Life

The experience opens with a representation of the creative dreams of designers. The whole Galeries Lafayette Champs-Elysées main entrance gallery made by the architectural firm Bjarke Ingels Group is wrapped with poster waste from the streets of Paris, photographed next to the store in September 2022 during Paris Fashion Week. Today, it has been transformed into a 3D artwork in the form of an NFT. This opening asks us to reflect on the endpoint of creative production. In Web2, the end point of beauty, fashion, and creativity is often harmful to the planet. But in Web3, we witness how fashion waste can transform into valuable artwork and activate a digitized and connected circular economy.

As customers step through the waste of Web2 fashion, they are then invited to experience the future of Web3 circular retail via SPIN. The exhibition's physical build is constructed from upcycled materials and centers on a virtual reality (VR) exhibition and direct-to-avatar try-on of phygital wearable NFT works curated by 37 Fashion and Science Catalysts from CFS HUB. Finally, the exhibition culminates in an augmented reality (AR) display of CFS HUB wearables available for purchase as both physical and digital versions of the items.

CFS HUB is a platform that curates artists, solutions, and creators and provides a space to accelerate the transition toward a digitized circular fashion system. At Web3 Fashion • The Origin Story, CFS HUB and its designers take center stage. Supported by Keing with their Material Innovation Lab, these designers and innovators collaborate to pilot sustainable and circular IoT (Internet of things) products. These products are available to explore and purchase physically and digitally in the form of phygital NFTs via SPIN’S AR and VR technology at Galeries Lafayette Champs-Elysées. All purchases at the exhibition are accessible using both fiat currencies and cryptocurrencies with official partner Crypto.com, the world’s fastest-growing platform of its kind.

With the application of SPIN, customers can also discover each product’s provenance and customer ownership timeline, which is authentically traced on Flow blockchain, as part of a wider partnership between lablaco and Dapper Labs to bring sustainable blockchain to SPIN’s phygital NFT marketplace. On Flow blockchain, the minting of a single NFT takes less energy than an Instagram post, making Flow one of the most sustainable blockchains available.

Customers can access the Flow-backed NFT marketplace, SPIN, through the industry's first SPIN Connect IoT label printer. The technology prints unique QR-code fabric labels that are then sewn onto each garment at the manufacturing level. Using any smartphone, customers can easily scan the code to visualize the item's journey, impact, and ownership via AR (with their phones) and VR (with Meta Quest headsets). Garments are displayed on SPIN ART digital mannequins for a personalized shopping experience.

Customers receive digital ownership of the 3D digital twins of the garments in the SPIN Vault (the equivalent of a crypto wallet) that unlock made-to-order purchases of their physical counterparts using fiat currencies or cryptocurrencies. via Crypto.com To avoid dead-stock, all creations will only be ethically made-to-order as phygital NFTs, including both 3D digital twins and physical garments with global home delivery. Items can also be purchased purely digitally as digital NFTs.

Extending beyond product, as part of the exhibition, a series of IRL talks will also be hosted in the Glass Staircase, 1st floor of Galeries Lafayette Champs-Elysées, featuring a curated group of changemakers and creative pioneers in art, fashion, technology, and music, with the purpose of creating awareness around the possibilities of technology and the circular economy. Additionally, a program to meet the CFS HUB creators will be presented in VR. Here, all participants will speak with the inventors and designers behind the products.

The Web3 circular retail model has the potential to revolutionize the way customers shop and consume. By working together, SPIN by lablaco, Galeries Lafayette Champs-Elysées, Dapper Labs, and Crypto.com are making this vision a reality. The exhibition sets a new standard for circular retail, as it activates transparency and customer ownership and amplifies the augmented product experience for the next generation of sustainable products.

Five Metaverse Creators You Need To Know

Tap these creators for your next luxury product or space.

Editor’s take

Web3 has officially taken over the industry as this generation’s pivotal platform — following the emergence of e-commerce and social media in the early ’00s. From Kering’s new CEO appointee of Gucci Vault and Metaverse Ventures, the launch of web3 hub Balmain Thread during PFW, Carolina Herrera selling a digital dress for $5,000, and everyone from Tommy Hilfiger to Vans buying spaces on Roblox (where more than 50M users are active daily), it’s indisputable that major brands investing themselves in web3 is paramount to survival — and installing a CEO-led team is well-advised. However once firmly in the realm of meta, there’s always the constant trial to break through the noise and dominate headlines and feeds. The right digital design collaborators can keep a brand competitive and culturally relevant.

With this in mind, here are our five favorite boundary-pushing digital designers:

Crosby Studios

Known for his monochromatic, yet vibrant industrial aesthetic, Russian-born, New York- and Paris-based artist and designer Harry Nuriev of Crosby Studios creates both physical and digital interiors, design objects and garments. The latest output from Nuriev was a VR-driven pop-up retail space with Zero10. Presented during NYFW, the temp space featured five virtual clothing designs by Crosby Studios, which guests were able to try on in AR using a special QR code. Others he’s collaborated with on digital projects include Valentino, Nike, Hypebeast and Vogue. It’s rumored that currently, Nuriev is working on a design game in The Sandbox where players can create their own interiors.

Max Arnautov

Digital artist and designer, Max Arnautov has been gaining recognition for his fake collaborations with Kanye’s Yeezy and Demna’s Balenciaga. What started as an experimental Instagram account, has morphed into something of a calling card for the Russian artist. Regularly modeling his original digital garments and accessories, inspired by the aforementioned designers, the rendering of a face-helmet version of the Yeezy foam shoes especially had many in the metaverse vying for the physical manifestation. It can only be a matter of time before this artist is picked up for a proper partnership.

Actual Objects

Since opening shop in 2018 with producer Nick Vernet, Rick and Claire Farin of Los Angeles-based experimental creative studio Actual Objects have worked with major brands, magazines and artists including Marine Serre, Hood by Air, Vogue, Ssense, Travis Scott, and Trippie Redd to digitize their visions. With a truly radical and particularly transgressive approach, the AO team’s work is almost immediately recognizable. Despite their differing backgrounds — Claire’s in drawing and painting and Rick’s in architecture and music — the two collaborated for several years before the formal outfit was established. Now they specialize in digitizing not only famous faces like Grimes’, but also whole metaworlds, using the platform Unreal Engine, to exact their unique uncanny photorealism.

Freeka Tet

Freeka Tet is a Paris-born, multi-city-based experimental artist and designer whose broad practice includes coding, prosthetics, animatronics, hacking, video plunderphonics and more. Inspired by Internet culture and the sometimes irrational social behavior within, his work critically, yet playfully reflects what he sees. Collaborations include multiple Collina Strada campaigns, including the animatronics for FW22 and Collina Land video game with GucciFest for SS21; an animated NFT with the cult musician Aphex Twin; the digitally manipulated stage video for Machine Gun Kelly and Travis Barker’s performance at the VMAs in 2021. Other clients include Childish Gambino, Chromeo, Google, Prada, Nike and The Whitney.

Zyva Studio

Zyva Studio is a Paris-based architecture firm, founded by artist and designer Anthony Authié. An active participant in the exploration of both physical and virtual architecture, since 2019, he’s since further developed his concept of “trans-design,” bridging the two worlds and their occupants. Inspired by a broad range of influences from reality TV to Manga to body builders, his work’s quickly recognizable by its vibrant colors and almost cartoon-like, unreal presence. His most recent project, commissioned by Elle Décoration France for their Paris Design Week project D3SIGN CAPSULE, was an NFT collaboration with fellow designer, Sam Buckley. The two pulled from their shared appreciation for computer games to create a digital chair, whose many Tetris-inspired, multi-hued parts can be rearranged to the owner’s liking.
