Pascal Morand is the Executive President of the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode. He is Professor (Economics) at ESCP Europe Business School and a member of the National Academy of Technologies in France. He is also a member of different National Committees dealing with Economy and Education. A graduate of HEC Business School (1978), he also holds a Master degree in Organization Science from University Paris-Dauphine (1979) and a Phd (Doctorat d’Etat) from University of Rouen (1988).
He was Assistant then Professor at Rouen Business School (1978-1985), visiting Scholar at Northwestern University (1981), Director of MS and International Programs at ESCP Europe (1985- 1987), Director General of IFM (Institut Français de la Mode) (1987-2006), Dean of ESCP Europe Business School (2006-2012) and Deputy Director General of Paris Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in charge of Studies, Public Affairs and Policy (2013-2015).
He was an adviser for the Textile and Clothing Moroccan Industry and the Government of Morocco (2002-2006) and was endorsed by Christine Lagarde, then Minister of Economics of France, with different missions (2007-2010), respectively dealing with Globalization, Innovation and the Economic and Financial Crisis. His own research work and publications deal with innovation and design, as well as the relationships between Economy and Culture.
He is for example the author of a book dedicated to the study of the Economic and Financial Union “ La Victoire de Luther” (Vivarium/Maison des Sciences de l’Homme, 2001). His last book focuses on the effects of religious cultures on luxury perception and consumption (Les religions et le luxe; Ethique de la richesse d’Orient en Occident; IFM/Regard, 2012).
