Saleem Ahamed.

is one of the most influential advocators, catalysts and pioneers of sustainability in the fashion industry.

Saleem knew he wanted to be a marketer from a very young age when he asked his mother who wrote the description on the back of an Ivory soap label. It's fitting that his first job was at Ivory's parent company Procter & Gamble, where he eventually spent 14 years in locations across Western Europe. During this time, he had responsibility for marketing and commercial operations on country, regional, and global levels for numerous billion-dollar brand franchises including Pantene, Head&Shoulders, Olay, Pringles, OralB, and Vicks. Saleem subsequently joined Johnson & Johnson where he became the Chief Marketing Officer of their global Diabetes Care Franchise, serving over 25 million people living with the disease across 90 countries.

Currently serving as Chief Marketing Officer of Plastic Bank, Saleem is overseeing the development of ethical recycling ecosystems that help regenerate ocean-bound plastic while improving the lives of collector communities in some of the world's poorest and most polluted areas. Collected materials are reborn as Social Plastic® and reintroduced into the global circular supply chain for use in new brands, products and packaging.

Saleem earned a BA in Communications from McGill University in Montreal, Canada and a MBA from ESSEC (Ecole Supérieure des Sciences Economiques et Commerciales) in Paris, France. His passion and commitment to innovative brand building has been recognized in Canada, the US, the UK, Germany, France, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Switzerland, The Netherlands and Belgium.
