Weinsanto and Dover Street Market launch exclusive first circular collection as Phygital NFTs powered by SPIN

As digital NFTs are taking the world by storm, a brand new form of NFTs are being pioneered by WEINSANTO at Dover Street Little Market in Paris, launching fashion industry’s first Phygital NFT drop, powered by SPIN. And it’s fully circular.

As designers and Tech Start Up Techs are working more and more together to interrupt the path to landfill and improve sustainability, Victor Weinsanto has joined forces with SPIN by Lablaco, the world’s leading circular fashion platform for his Spring Summer 22 collection at the iconic store Dover Street Little Market Paris.

Leveraging Web 3 new technologies, the program is in line with Weinsanto’s continued commitment to sustainability & interest in innovation. His collections have always included innovative & responsible materials where possible; for SS 22 fabrics from the LVMH platform Nona Source were used.

Taking concrete action to counter the negative impact of the industry Weinsanto is embracing circular fashion and digitalization. Extending the life cycle of the designs can effectively   contribute to reducing the industry’s carbon emissions.  Millennials and Gen Z are already favoring pre-loved items so it’s a natural step for Weinsanto to take.

Collaborating with lablaco’s SPIN platform, transforming each item into a phygital NFT, by connecting them with its Internet of Things (IoT) care labels, enabling end to end transparency on blockchain technology and offering digital customer ownership, traceability and a brand-new fashionable & fun customer experience, shifting from consumption to ownership.

For this first initiative Weinsanto proposes a selection from his collection, offering the customer an interactive experience of connecting with the item by simply scanning a QR code included on the clothing’s digital care labels. The QR code tells the story from the suppliers, brand and retailer, to the end customer’s first and secondhand ownership.  Taking the QR code several steps further the owner is invited to join the timeline. The connected items allow the new owner to publish their own content, “memories”; how they wore it, how they styled it, or other content they find in the media.

This is all available through secure blockchain, that enable a trusted and decentralized source of truth, solving counterfeit issues and fake information. The customer not only owns and wears a Weinsanto design, but also becomes part of a new fashion ecosystem along with one of their favorite designers.

The new collection was inspired by Weinsanto’s roots in his home town in Alsace, very French in essence, a tribute to his childhood.  It is fitting that he chooses to combine tradition, with a contemporary “Spin” and adding a revolutionary dimension through tech.
