MetaSeoul Creates a City-Wide Metaverse

This week, the first and largest NFT and Metaverse conference takes place in Seoul.

As Crypto Art Week Asia draws to a close, the world’s biggest NFT showcase to date which featured over 300 of Asia’s most eminent names in crypto art from 19 countries, this week MetaSeoul begins, the first and largest NFT & Metaverse conference in Seoul. 

Running until Wednesday, MetaSeoul is a city-wide festival that aims to bring Seoul’s diverse online communities together, starting the “rebirth of Seoul as a digital city.” Hosted through YouTube Live and Gather, the sessions explore topics including the value of NFT’s, identity and the metaverse, community and meme culture, and busing sustainable businesses with NFT’s. 

NFT’s are a relatively new phenomenon in the art world, with the first art auction house offering a digital artwork for purchase as an NFT in March this year, as did it accept cryptocurrency as a mode of payment. With it’s recent rise, MetaSeoul aims to “bear witness to the digital renaissance.”
