H&M's New "Billion Dollar" Collection Proposes Sustainable Fashion Solutions
H&M Foundation showcases ten sustainable start-ups that the company believes can change the face of the fashion industry.
In a solutions oriented approach to fashion’s environmental crisis, the H&M Foundation has announced the Billion Dollar Collection which showcases ten sustainable start-ups from around the world. The chosen start-ups reflect the innovation that the company believes could disrupt the fashion industry, focusing on sustainable materials and traceability.
The collection, titled “Billion Dollar Collection” was made with past winners of the foundation’s Global Change Award. It features asymmetrical details, trinket-like finishing, non-standard colors and bold volumes, all with interactive price tags showing the amount of funds a start-up thinks it needs to reach scale for their idea. It was exclusively created in computer-generated imagery by Mackevision.
“With this campaign we want to create awareness of the impact sustainable innovation can achieve if given the opportunity to grow. ” said Diana Amini, Global Manager of the H&M Foundation, in a statement.
