Circular Fashion Summit 2021 Redesigning Society: Into the Metaverse

Taking place on 9—12 December 2021, this year the Circular Fashion Summit (CFS by lablaco) will be held in the SPIN metaverse, at the digital twin of the historical Grand Palais Éphémère in Paris, in virtual reality.

Circular Fashion Summit (CFS) is the world’s largest annual VR gathering in fashion. With partners from Kering, Unity, Unilever, and Vogue, CFS was born as a global collective action summit focusing on design, technology and sustainability to accelerate the transition of the fashion industry towards a digitized and connected circular economy. The first CFS VR edition debuted in October 2020 during Paris Fashion Week at the digital twin of Grand Palais—an iconic building home to memorable Chanel shows and part of the history of Paris—it successfully led the way of innovation for the fashion industry during the pandemic.

CFS 2020 garnered heads of five main fashion weeks, companies such as Chanel, LVMH, Ferragamo, The North Face, Balenciaga, and H&M, and generated more than 10 million impressions on social media.

Supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030, this year's summit is taking place on 9—12 December 2021, running on lablaco’s circular fashion metaverse platform — SPIN, operated with its human-centric avatars, made with a global team of cross industry talent across four continents, at the digital twin of the historical Grand Palais Éphémère in Paris.

CFS 2021 will gather leaders of change from design, technology, and sustainability to share knowledge, but most importantly to ignite immediate action on three measurable goals, accelerating a digitized circular economy for fashion. The summit is a celebration of impactful design, evolutionary partnerships, and opportunities for the fashion industry to transition to a digitized circular economy. It’s a space to implement real solutions and make positive change happen collectively.

#CFS2021VR Theme: Redesigning Society

The focus of this year’s edition is Redesigning Society, highlighting the post-pandemic social evolution that is being reflected in the fashion industry. This includes accelerating digitization and circularity at scale. It also encompasses a range of solutions from upcycling, adaptive fashion, digital twins, and beyond, evolving the role of fashion as a force for good.

Where?
Circular Fashion Summit 2021 Will Take Place Inside the SPIN Metaverse

Attendees will be able to choose from various virtual reality experiences around topics such as art, culture and innovation, spearheaded by various experts of the fields.

The cyber sneakers brand RTFKT will also showcase the recently launched Clone X NFT avatar project - RTFKT x MURAKAMI at the networking area in front of virtual Eiffel Tower for attendees to experience and “meet” an NFT digital art piece for the first time. There will also be a selection of digital fashion garments provided by DressX for all summit attendees to try on avatars and create exclusive content inside the SPIN metaverse.

The global collective action summit is set in the exclusive NFT of the Grand Palais Éphémère co-owned by lablaco

As fashion events continue to enter the digital-only space, Circular Fashion Summit by lablaco is leading the fashion metaverse race. This year, CFS recreated it’s second French iconic building, the Grand Palais Éphémère as an interactive NFT, created and co-owned by lablaco. Circular Fashion Summit 2021 will be inaugurated with the grand opening ceremony that will include the Executive President of the Fédération de la Haute et de la Mode at Paris Fashion Week, Pascal Morand and the President of the Réunion des Musées Nationaux at Grand Palais, Chris Dercon.
