CFS 2021 Highlight: The Global Collective Action Summit is Set in the Exclusive Digital Twin of the Grand Palais Éphémère
The global collective action summit is set in the exclusive NFT of the Grand Palais Éphémère co-owned by lablaco, with new inclusive avatars.
After Facebook announced the change of the new name of the company to “Meta”, “metaverse” has become the hottest topic all over the internet. Circular Fashion Summit (CFS), the world’s largest annual VR gathering in fashion, recently announced its new dates on 9—12 December 2021, due to Meta-owned (previously Facebook Inc.) VR headsets company, Oculus, making the biggest recall in fashion metaverse history.
As fashion events continue to enter the digital-only space, Circular Fashion Summit by lablaco keeps leading the fashion metaverse race, this year recreating it’s second French iconic building, the Grand Palais Éphémère and it’s going to be an interactive NFT this time, created and co-owned by lablaco. This year’s Circular Fashion Summit will be inaugurated with the grand opening ceremony that will include the Executive President of the Fédération de la Haute et de la Mode — Paris Fashion Week, Pascal Morand and the President of the Réunion des Musées Nationaux — Grand Palais, Chris Dercon.

Attendees will be able to join a number of panels in person, enjoy an exclusive virtual reality experience around innovation, culture, art, fashion and sustainability, gathering industry leaders of change in Fashion and Technology, including companies such as Kering Group, Armani Privè, K11, Cholé, Zalando, RTFKT, Ruby 9100M, The Fabricant, Genies, DressX, Unity, Epic Games, Vogue Singapore… and many more, who are leading the evolution towards a digitized circular fashion ecosystem.
Attendees will also be able to create their avatars, created by lablaco in the exclusive partnership with IoDF (Institute of Digital Fashion), who advised and co-created a series of studies and applications for human representation of inclusivity and diversity in metaverse. As avatars are the central point of a virtual environment, IoDF aims to identify a customisation process that is sustainably innovative and inclusive of all, including non-binary avatars. Together, lablaco and IoDF are working to create avatars that represent the spectrum of skin colors, genders, and disabilities currently missing from the VR space and digital platforms.

CFS was born as a global collective action summit focusing on Fashion, Technology and Sustainability to accelerate the transition of the fashion industry towards a digitized circular economy. Over the past three years, thanks to the incredible support of friends and partners, many obstacles have been overcome to make the CFS action goals happen beyond physical boundaries, bringing meaningful thought leadership and partnerships into Virtual Reality over the covid-19 hit back in 2020.
Alongside the launch of the Grand Palais Éphémère digital twin (NFT) in VR, CFS 2021 will be running on lablaco’s next-generation fashion metaverse platform SPIN, shaping the lifestyle of a multi dimensional Circular Fashion lifestyle for everyone. The platform allows users to experience end-to-end transparency with in-platform digital and physical fashion, purchases that track the use-cycle of a garment, with the purpose of extending the use phase as part of circular fashion models, from selling, re-selling, renting, swapping and more. An IoDF and CFS inclusive, digital only VR capsule collection drop will be launched on the SPIN by lablaco platform, exclusive premiere for CFS 2021 VR attendees through the Oculus App Store.
